These two programs replace the two previously offered pilots, Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot, which closed in June of 2024.
Unlike the previous model, the new programs will offer permanent residency to home care workers upon arrival in Canada. Workers will also be able to provide care for individuals who are semi-independent or recovering from illness or injury, including part-time or temporary care roles.
Eligibility Requirements: 1. Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 4 proficiency
2. Equivalent to a Canadian high school diploma
3. Recent, relevant work experience
4. A full-time offer of employment in home care
Full details and eligibility criteria will be released closer to the program’s launch.

Eligibility Criteria:
Around 240 to 300 skilled workers are needed to fill regional labor gaps.
Additional information regarding eligibility and the official release date is yet to be declared.
These programs demonstrate Canada’s commitment to regional labor market needs and attract skilled workers to settle in various areas across the country.
Rural Community Immigration Pilot
Building on the success of the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot, Canada will launch the Rural Community Immigration Pilot in 2025. The said program will attract newcomers with the ability to address the labor shortages in small rural communities, contributing to long-term settlement in the communities.
Eligibility Requirements:
Candidates must be able to meet labor needs in rural communities.
The official program information and eligibility will be announced once the launch is closer.
